Have you seen recently where Yahoo stock has been really hot! Well, THIS must be where they are concentrating all their brains....because it sure ain't at Geocities!!

First an attempt is made to take and use their member's websites and graphics by replacing the old TOS with Yahoo's "new" one, when Yahoo purchased and absorbed Geocities. Over the course of a weekend, members were unable to enter their sites to make changes until they signed Yahoos new TOS, which gave Yahoo the rights to everything except your first born child!! If you didn't sign, you could not get into your file manager or FTP program to update or change anything.

When that failed, due to a MAJOR boycott of Yahoo and Geocities, they just conveniently had some kind of major "trauma" over there and "lost" multiple websites, plus the attendant files that made up those sites.....convenient!

However, I have lost two years worth of effort and work to create a personal site that I was very proud of. POOF!! All gone. Just one day it was there and the next, it was gone. Someone else had already begun moving in to my address. When Yahoo was contacted by email and phone, I was assured that they would find the files and replace them. To date, NOTHING has been done. My site....and my files have vanished. November is the beginning of the fourth month since the "loss".

Ever try to find an actual email address to write to those buggers??? Not in THIS lifetime! I searched for 10 minutes and all I got was a "form" to fill out. Then it took them two weeks to respond....with a non-answer. They wanted to know what I might have done to cause this problem..HELLLLLLLOOOO!!

Anyway...I'm in the process of trying to redo the pages and get the site back up, but time is a great factor....I haven't enough of it in a day. So, be patient, it'll be back soon! Just rest assured...it will NOT be at Yahoo/Geocities!! AND, the next time that someone tells you that something is F-R-E-E, simply laugh in their face....it just ain't the truth! There's a price for everything!
